Next Tuesday, October 1 is our third wedding anniversary. It's so weird writing this because we've been so blessed to have such an easy and fun marriage thus far so it feels much longer than 3 years since we said "I Do". On the other hand, it feels like yesterday we started dating and were quickly engaged. Funny how that works.
We stayed at Talking Stick on our wedding night and a couple times since so we felt like it would be fun to splurge on the executive suite and spend our weekend downtown celebrating 3 years of marriage. No special plans for a big dinner or fancy night out, we're just opting for pizza in with our favorite movies and a lot of alcohol...! Drake is stoked to be spending the weekend at Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Eric's house and he'll have his brother, Brutus there with him so they will have a blast.
What do you prefer on an anniversary? Low key or elaborate?
I'm all about low key! Our favorite date night is grabbing a couple movies and some ice cream and just staying up late snuggling!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! me and my husband celebrate our third wedding anniversary in October, too (the 17th)! We'll be out of town for ours, but a night in sounds like a good plan!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same weekend planned and I am STOKED. Hope you guys have fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I hope to take a trip for big ones like 10 and 20 but I think its nice to keep it low-key like a wine weekend or a staycation. Who doesn't enjoy a lounge-fest! Congrats and Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Angel and I make three years (dating) on October 1 as well! I think a night in is awesome! Angel and I usually spend weekends in anyway and we do it big for birthdays and anniversaries, but this year with new jobs and moving coming up we're thinking low-key in our (hopefully) new place. I look forward to your pictures!

Congrats and have an amazing time! We're approaching our one year anniversary in December...nothing big planned for that weekend, because a few months later we're treating ourselves with a trip to NOLA for Mardi Gras :) Not at all low key, but it's something I've always wanted to do!
ReplyDeleteYou are SOOO CLOSE TO ME! talking stick is one of our favorites! We have ate T giving and X mas dinner/brunch there for the past 2 years! :) Have fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, hope you enjoyed your mini getaway. We've had 2 anniversaries so far, just celebrated our 2nd one on 9/24. For our first anniversary we went away and renewed our vows with a small group of friends, this year we stayed in, had some drinks, exchanged gifts, & made had a Mexican fiesta, I guess so far I'm 50/50 lowkey & elaborate!
