Bronco Fan

Last night I pulled the kiddos outside for a last hurrah before bedtime and Drake grabbed his new Saranoni blanket and pratically demanded I have a little photo shoot with him like we do with Emery. It was pretty cute and he's totally hamming it up. He even looked over them with me on the computer this morning and goes "man, I'm a stud!"... I swear, this child has the personality for everyone who doesn't have that quality.

I mentioned in a post earlier this week Saranoni blankets and getting them custom for your kiddos so when I saw the navy and orange combo I had to snatch it up for my little Bronco fan. He was SO excited opening that package and goes cape status around the house showing everyone in her path.

Both kids are currently snuggled up watching Saturday morning cartoons with their Saranoni blankets. Now I need to get one for myself so I can join! ;)

Motherhood

Summer Vacation!

This is the first week we have Drake for his summer vacation since we picked him up last night so we kicked it off with a bang and spent the morning at Butterfly Wonderland with our sweet friend, Courtney and her daughter Mia. Drake and I went a couple years ago and he cried the whole time so this time was definitely better. Although he still didn't love it... he just stayed pretty close to me and holding my hand. Poor kid!

It did happen to be one of those days though I was so frazzled and stressed from the get go and it only progressed as the day went on. The cherry on top was Emery spitting her food across Paradise Bakery's floor at lunch and then her spitting up literally across my whole shoulder and back. I mean, it was pretty cute.... ;)! But really, I was happy to come home and both the kids to nap for a couple hours because it was just what I needed to regroup and recharge.

Um, personality much? Seriously. She is becoming quite the diva and is insanely vocal about what she likes and doesn't like. On one hand, it's totally darling hearing her chatter away and on the other, it's total manipulation of her mama and it's terrifying. I'm really trying to stay consistent and begin telling her now that the drama isn't necessary but who am I kidding? She's a daughter of two parents who are very stubborn so we are screwed.

I think it's also time to admit I have an obsession... with blankets. When we packed things up to move I realized I have about 15+ blankets for Emery ranging from plush to receiving to crocheted. Yikes. Talk about a hoarder. That didn't stop me from adding this Saranoni blanket to the collection though mainly because I've heard ridiculous good reviews on them and how soft and luxurious they are but I was able to embroider it! I'm all about creating keepsakes for Emery and Drake as they grow so snagging a Saranoni blanket seemed almost silly not to... ;)

I have to totally agree with the instagram ravers that it's deliciously soft and so cuddly. Emery loves a good blanket to snuggle into and this one is her favorite since getting it in the mail. My suggestion? Get an extra large for a throw on your couch, embroidered ones for your kids and a mini for in the car with your babies. You're welcomed.

I've decided this summer I'm basically dressing Emery in rompers and cute little bloomers because the AZ heat is legit. We've been so lucky to only be in the 90's still which normally end in March so I really should be thankful for the "cool" spring and summer we're having right now. And aren't these hand painted bloomers adorable? House of Mia is rockin' it for their summer line!

Also, she was totally grumpy for these pictures and it took everything in me to get her to smile.... the irony of the Grumpy Bear shirt. I guess I was doomed when I threw it on her that morning. But alas, it's still darling... says every mother of their babies! ;)

Emery | 7 Months

Oh, my angel girl. It's been a trying month going from six to seven months but the things she's learning as we watch her grow are so worth the sleepless nights and fussy days. We've been dealing with a very teethy baby who is about to pop 4 new ones in on the top which has made her quite the clingy, uncomfortable, miserable little lady. In turn, she hasn't been sleeping through the night anymore but sleeps from 6:30pm until about 2am, takes a bottle and falls back asleep until about 5am. We're tired and it's wearing us down but she's developing so much!

We are head over heels with our baby lady and are loving watching her grow into her own little person. She's firey and bold but so sweet and lovable. And the pouty lip she gives other people when she wants mama makes my heart burst.

Family Pictures

This is going to be an emotional one.

These pictures were taken one week before we moved out of our precious first home and recently I've been really missing it. The memories, the stories, the routine, the comfort. Knowing when we would get home, the kids would run into the family room, spew their stuff everywhere and just live. Sharing books and kisses and laughs... I miss it. I miss that home and the way it smelt and the way it eased my stresses the second I walked in. I miss sitting in each of the kids rooms and enjoying them sleeping and knowing the labor of love I spent building those rooms so special for them. I miss our beautifully lit bedroom where Andrew and I shared so many precious moments as husband and wife and as parents, learning about Emery and how to adjust to her. I'm missing the familiar sense of home and what was ours and private to us.

Stacey and I had talked about doing a family session for the first half of 2015 and when we sold the home, we cleared schedules to make it happen one last time in our beloved first home before closing. I can't praise and thank her enough for capturing a moment and season of our life I never want to forget. It's golden to me and I'm thankful to have our love oozing in still form in these photos.

Kid Shoes on a Budget

So I have a 9 year old who sees all his friends with the latest and greatest brand names and cool workout gear and sneaks galore who finds himself lusting over all of it and then he comes home telling me all about it and how he would looove some of his own. Bless his heart. If he only knew the cost of those things and how raising two kids while custom building a home means we're pinching pennies over here to save.... but he doesn't.

It's no fun for him either when I'm constantly buying things for Emery as she grows because she doesn't have the next size up and I'm having to build her wardrobe as she's rapidly growing. I've made the commitment that I'll only shop for the kids when there are sales going on now so I can splurge on a couple things for each so they're both feeling thought of.

All that being said, Nordstrom is having their half yearly sale and the shoe section for the kids is on point right now! Perfect timing for some new kicks Drake was much needing a for Emery as she's still not fitting in 0-3 months shoes with her tiny feet. Ha!
