Well that waxing thing that happened yesterday? Yeah, that shit is no joke. I went in pretty calm and they took me back right away so I didn't have time to sit in a lobby and freak out and the girl was so sweet walking me through the process and just basically got to work. I could handle the first couple pulls with minor flinching but when she got down in there (if you know what I mean) and pulled, I had a sort of hot flash and threw up. Talk about embarrassing. She was so kind and helpful, getting me water, let me take a break and even told me she's been through it when pregnant so apparently it's more common for us preggers to have this reaction? Who knows but that was somewhat comforting. She finished it all out, still talking me through it and cheering me on like I was a 5 year old and I could've kissed her, I was so appreciative for all she did. It was painful, yes but the end result is totally worth it, if you ask me- smooth as butter. I scheduled my next appointment 4 weeks out so I plan to keep this waxing routine up as long as my wallet can make it happen or until I can afford laser hair removal. Ha!
Today, I've teamed up with Kiki La'Rue for our normal #KINCHKIKILARUEBUMP maternity collaboration but also a giveaway! They sent me over a lovely kimono to give to one of my lucky readers so make sure to enter, friends! It is the perfect little piece to throw on with cut offs and sandals or leggings and a tank so I hope you love it- good luck!

ReplyDeleteI'd wear that over my many tank tops. I live in Florida but teach theater. Inside is cold. Outside is sweltering. I need nice cover ups that can work for both. Bad. :)

ReplyDeletePS I got waxed the day before I was induced with my son. I feel and know the pain. Its great to have a great waxer though! They really can coach (and coax) you through it! I thought I couldn't finish.. but good thing I did because I ended up with a c-section! xoxo

ReplyDeleteI'd style the kimono with skinny jeans, a white pregnancy tank and some cute sandals. It would be perfect for my CO trip the end of this month!
Laser hair removal hurts just as bad as waxing! It works though, until you are pregnant with a boy...they warned me but I didn't listen. I'll have to go back and get it all done again!

Laser Hair Removal hurts just as bad as waxing. It works though! Until you are pregnant with a boy! I'm going to have to go back and have SEVERAL touch ups. =(
I swear the part you think will hurt the most ends up hurting the least-and vice versa. It's been awhile since i've gotten one but with a trip to mexico coming up i should probably schedule one (and pop an ibuprofean).
ReplyDeleteI'm a fellow pregger (due 10/21!) and of course I could use another kimono!

ReplyDeleteI got laser hair removal done at indulge med spa. It only cost $450! You go once a month for 6 months and pay $75 and then WHENEVER you need touch ups its free! It is super painful but it goes by quickly and the lady who does it is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI got laser hair removal done at Indulge Med Spa. It was only $450 which is so cheap compared to everywhere else. You go once a month for 6 months and pay $75 and then you can go in WHENEVER for free. Literally whenever and you don't pay a dime for as long as you like. It was super painful but it's totally worth it.
