HAIR & MAKEUP
Black and white have been my most favorite thing lately then add it in a stripe form and I'm sold. I don't personally love color and maybe it's because I'm itching for Fall but this is something I find myself navigating towards more often than not these days. Maybe it's because they also say black is more slimming which I don't fully believe but I'll take what I can with my ever growing hips.

Well that waxing thing that happened yesterday? Yeah, that shit is no joke. I went in pretty calm and they took me back right away so I didn't have time to sit in a lobby and freak out and the girl was so sweet walking me through the process and just basically got to work. I could handle the first couple pulls with minor flinching but when she got down in there (if you know what I mean) and pulled, I had a sort of hot flash and threw up. Talk about embarrassing. She was so kind and helpful, getting me water, let me take a break and even told me she's been through it when pregnant so apparently it's more common for us preggers to have this reaction? Who knows but that was somewhat comforting. She finished it all out, still talking me through it and cheering me on like I was a 5 year old and I could've kissed her, I was so appreciative for all she did. It was painful, yes but the end result is totally worth it, if you ask me- smooth as butter. I scheduled my next appointment 4 weeks out so I plan to keep this waxing routine up as long as my wallet can make it happen or until I can afford laser hair removal. Ha!
Today, I've teamed up with Kiki La'Rue for our normal #KINCHKIKILARUEBUMP maternity collaboration but also a giveaway! They sent me over a lovely kimono to give to one of my lucky readers so make sure to enter, friends! It is the perfect little piece to throw on with cut offs and sandals or leggings and a tank so I hope you love it- good luck!

This weekend flew by, am I right? I wasn't quite ready to give it up because I ended up working most of it and feel like I need a little break but I don't see that happening in the near future. I am so excited about all the design work coming in the last couple weeks and can't wait to share new client boards and such but my plan to be able to immediately start working on boards for clients is out the door with the queue now months booked! Good news and bad news, I suppose. Hopefully I can knock some things out faster so I can attempt to tighten up my schedule the last month or so of my pregnancy.
In case you missed it, I chatted a bit over the weekend about my thoughts on where I am emotionally and physically in the pregnancy process and we're officially in our third trimester now. It's a little scary and all consuming my thoughts how it will be a couple more months and baby lady will be in my arms. You can read that post, here. On the bump style side of things, I've realized I just can't keeping trying to force outfits and such when all I want to do is throw on a maxi these days. It was that way in the beginning as well but I broke down and ordered a few more because I just have to accept if I want comfort, a maxi will win. This one from Kiki La'Rue is perfection, friends. I wore it this last week out with so many compliments! I'm in a size large and it fits fabulously over my bump. Something I can totally wear up until Emery is born and I'm happy about that!

Okay, Brutus is too stinking cute you guys. I am obviously biased about my pup but I just can't get over how precious and majestic (yes, I said it) he is! He literally is the perfect accessory but was also a pain in the ass trying to walk in these wedges. I don't recommend trying that at home.
Today, I'm collaborating with Becky again from Cella Jane on our maternity looks for the 4th of July! I'm not personally into the cliche styling for that All-American day but I do love to throw on a pop of blue or red so in this case, my Kiki La'Rue ombre cobalt top was perfect! When I ordered it last month, I knew I'd be rockin' it for our July 4th BBQ and it's so cozy it's easy to throw on with a suit underneath too! Two birds, one stone. Love it!
Don't forget to swing by Becky's blog to see her 4th of July look!

Happy Monday, everyone! How was your weekend? We have Drake this week so our weekend was filled with karate class, entertaining and our first week at our new church with little man. We are back at our "mega church" from what people say so his Sunday School is basically like an amusement park and it was all so foreign to me getting him registered and ready to go but I had a moment of serious pregnancy embarrassment taking him yesterday. His classroom is up on the second level of the building leaving me walking a few flights of stairs outside to sign him in. Well, add heels, a pregnant chick and 110 degree heat with stairs.... it's not pretty. It took me far too long to make my way up to sign him in and I was a heaving, sweaty mess when I reached the top. Conclusion: Andrew will be doing the drop off // pick up thing from now on, solo.
On to this outfit... are you so sick of seeing this leopard clutch everywhere? I hope not! I am obsessed and it will still be making it's appearance quite often throughout outfit posts... just saying so brace yourself! I was finally able to pick up a few items from my tailor this last week including this Kiki La'Rue maxi dress and I was elated how it came out. Being 5 foot it's hard to find a maxi that doesn't need some altering so having it back in my closet has been glorious! I've already worn it twice in one week... (shhhh, don't judge) and I plan to wear it again this weekend because it's so airy and cool for summer! A total win, my friends.
Have a great rest of your day!

taken at 21 weeks pregnant
Remember last week when I said I found some shorts I actually was loving and excited to wear throughout the summer? Well here they are! I couldn't wait to pair them with my new top from Kiki La'Rue and this combo was so comfy for looking pulled together this past Monday running errands and spending the day with Drake!
I also wanted to extend a thank you to all those who commented, read and prayed for us on our doctor visit yesterday. We chose to go ahead and pay the bill without fighting it anymore because I'm way too stressed out to manage the continuing battle. We did also find out that $410.00 goes towards our deductible meaning we only have $90 left to meet our plan benefits and insurance then takes over all pregnancy related expenses. At least that's what they say so we're praying that was the truth! Who knows at this point because it seems we get 3 stories each time but I do have a sense of relief knowing it's resolved and I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Hope you're having a great week, thanks for stopping by!

I have been dying to share this outfit with you after I got them back from my soul sister, Brealyn! This blazer screamed to me online while I was browsing Old Navy maternity items and I couldn't resist snagging it. I ordered a couple sizes up so I can wear it throughout my pregnancy and then it will still have the boyfriend, oversized look I love. Kiki La' Rue and I are also sharing a little maternity option today with a trusty Piko top! I can't get enough of them and truly will wear them all throughout my pregnancy and after. They run large so I'm in a small and have plenty of room. They're a closet basic so I encourage you to shop all KLR Pikos, here!
Have a great Monday, everyone!
