How To | Highlight & Contour with Powder

Well hasn't it been ages since we did a little beauty tutorial?! I thought so too and wanted to share what I've been doing recently for my routine. As you'll see in the video, I haven't changed much because I feel like I have a great routine in place, I've also updated my highlighting & contouring to be done with powder. It's a little quicker process and something that I tend to like the outcome of better so enjoy!

How To: Highlight + Contour

I've spent months and month going over product that has worked for my sensitive, acne prone skin always coming up short. After refusing to jump on the BB Cream bandwagon, I finally did and it's already made a huge difference in my complexion and overall makeup routine. After finding this sheer goodness, I tackled the task of mastering highlighting + contouring that again, worked for my unruly skin. After playing with a few darker bronzers to contour with, I found the new Maybelline Fit Foundation and it did exactly what I was wanting it to! Hopefully these goodies can help you as well, as all of us ladies deserve to experience all types of beauty methods and products!

Make Up: Coral Crush

I'm guilty of obsessing over coral lately, so when I stumbled upon Rimmel London Kate No. 12, I knew it was a must for summer. I'm not much of a lipstick person but I think this is just the right color with a matte consistency and the perfect moisture so it's inevitable. I will be wearing it all summer long.

I had some fun playing with a basic, bronzed face with this nice little pop and thought, let's share!

products I used:
foundation | maybelline dream matte mousse
concealer | maybelline cover stick
eyeshadow 1 | maybelline barely branded
eyeshadow 2 | mary kay almond
blush | ulta mineral baked bronzer
eyeline | elf liquid eyeliner
mascara | rimmel london scandaleyes show off
lipstick | rimmel london, kate no. 12

How To: Smokey Eyes

A week or so ago I posted a picture on instagram about my hair but got a million more compliments on my eye makeup. You've seen here I am pretty basic when it comes to shadows and I keep it pretty neutral and not too dark so when I got my hands on some new products that create an amazing smokey eye, I had to start doing it daily, duh. So I wanted to show a little step by step of the products I use so you can accomplish your own smokey eye.

First thing to take note of is that this eye is a darker brown//charcoal eye versus a black smokey eye. I like this better because it's not as harsh and tends to bring out to green in my eyes better. I'm showing below the order of application so please know they are all applied the same way for shadows just to the crease. The Almond focuses on the entire lid and I go back using Coffee Shop and Espresso on the outer corners. I also take a bit of the Espresso and rough it up under my bottom lashes. I use the Devil's Food eye crayon as an eyeliner making it thick and bold to really make the eyes pop and to help them appear larger.

almond | mary kay
coffee shop | milani
espresso | mary kay
devil's food | ulta
rocket mascara | maybelline
soft nude | revlon

Easy enough, right? This is something that took me a few times to really be comfortable with the application and to fully embrace the boldness it shouts but now that I have, I love pairing it with a nude lip, black top and some red nails. It's the perfect statement for a night out and gives little glam vibe for a day at work. Feeling even more adventurous? Throw on a pair of false eyelashes and you'll really have some eyes that stand out!

My Makeup Routine

I've had so many people asking me what happened to the previous post I had about my make up routine and the truth is, I deleted it. The video quality was atrocious so I had to get that nonsense out of here and I've finally had a moment to get you a new one with a few updates too!

+ the above picture is numbered shown in the order of application

Please ignore the little hair from the brush left in the middle of my forehead. Gross. It's times like that I wish I could start over and figure it all out from the beginning. Oh, the joys of doing your makeup without a mirror. But simple enough, right? I do struggle with acne so I have my daily topical from the dermatologist on to begin with Cera Ve daily moisturizing lotion.

1. Sonia Kashuk: Brush Set
2. Maybelline: Dream Touch HighlightingConcealer
3. Maybelline: Dream Nude Airfoam
4.Essence: I <3 Stage Shadow Primer
5. Laura Geller: Pink Buttercream

7. Milan: Coffee
8. Elf: Pencil Eyeliner
9. Elf: Brow Pencil
10. Elf: Eyelash Curler
11. Maybelline: Rocket
12. Revlon: Soft Nude

Illuminating Eyes: Tutorial

A few weekends ago I was running out the door as fast and I could with Drake and only had time to throw on a light coat of eye shadow. Well it changed my life.

Maybe not that drastic but it's what I've been doing daily since and here's how!
