Two weeks ago the message at church completely resonated with me and since then I've been thinking about what Caleb said over and over. One of the main things that stood out to me was this phrase:

BE KNOWN FOR WHAT YOU'RE FOR, NOT AGAINST.

I think as Christians, we tend to spend time choosing to be vocal about things we don't agree with and don't see as holy and righteous in the Kingdom of God and that's not a Christian heart. God was known for all the things he loved and extended grace on. There's a difference of accepting a person versus approving of their actions and in the world we live in today, it's so common for people to negate and disrespect others and I hope that we as bloggers with a voice online and as Christians, we can extend grace and love and be known for all the amazing things we're passionate about versus the things we don't agree with.

This week seriously flew by and I don't know how I feel about that. It was a productive one but it was also one I wish I could hold onto the moments of spending time with my love a bit longer. I know I've been slacking here on the blog but I was really inspired last night as I closed my work day so I figured why not create a little freebie for you? It's the infamous gold and black but it's so chic I just can't help but love it. I know, I'm so late at getting this post up today but after not planning to post the rest of this week, I thought it would be okay if I was slightly delayed with a freebie and some highlights from my week! I have to start by saying this last Sunday I mentioned here was one that completely opened my eyes. I laid my heart out to the Lord and I've surrendered my worries and fears to Him. It's funny how quickly He can shower you in blessings and I'm so thankful for that. I've been booking out client after client every week with a current queue of 37 ladies meaning I'm booked until April, y'all! I sometimes let the realistic side of me take over thinking how stressed and overwhelmed I am but then I realized how blessed I am.... therefore I shouldn't be stressed. Hence the freebie- a special thanks to my sister for coming up with that catchy phrase!

+ My fabulous Whitney English planner has shipped. I ordered it back in December and I've been slightly scatter brained without a consistent planner so I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival next week.

+ I haven't been sleeping well due to an endless list of clients I want to complete so today, I slept in until 11am. Sue me but I was so thankful Drake let me skip his breakfast and get some much needed shut eye.

+ My sweet friend, Ashlyn has me on this Chartreuse kick... I can't get enough of this bold color and I solely blame her!

+ I have finally found the perfect product to deal with my unruly adult acne! Mario Badescu has come to the rescue and I can't wait to share in detail the items I'm loving and how they're working with my skin.

+ Given it's been in the high 80's in PHX lately, I took the chance and spray tanned yesterday- it's silly how good a spray tan makes you feel!

This week has been such a fun one and my first week working for myself, talk about crazy and surreal and so exciting. I was able to snag a bite to eat with some blogging babes on Thursday and it's just what I needed enjoy the first week of my new journey. I have been so blessed to meet beautiful girls throughout this process and I'm excited to be planning lunches and dinner date more often than not now.

+ I'm so looking forward to getting my Whitney English planner in. I finally ordered last week so February shipment can't come soon enough.

+ I've hit the gym hard starting on Tuesday and in the three days, I've lost 2 pounds. Call me crazy and say it's water weight but it has me motivated to keep going!

+ Speaking of working out.... I finally popped into Lululemon on Monday which was a mistake; I want everything with their gorgeous spring colors. Particularly this & this!

+ I fell in love with this ASOS dress when Rach blogged it so naturally, I purchased and plan on wearing it for Easter with some chunky wedges-- these would totally work.

+ The kids didn't have school on Monday so I took Drake and Rylan (my cousin) to Butterfly Wonderland... talk about the most amazing place. I loved our time there!

I have quite the news to share. Something I've been wishing I could set in motion to be able to move forward and it's happening.... someone pinch me so I know it's real. Is the suspense killing you?! I guess I should just cut right to the chase.... I have officially put in my notice at the church (!!) and I will be leaving January 16th to become a full time freelance designer + virtual assistant from home! Cue the confetti and Beyonce!

What? Why? How....? As we've settled into our life having Drake 50% for the last 6 months, I've realized what a toll I've been putting my mind and body through trying to juggle being a wife and mother first and foremost but also trying to maintain two full time jobs. I've learned the signs of an oncoming breaking point and how I knew I'd be sick with migraines when I got too stressed. I learned I'm a push over and people pleaser so I wouldn't ever say no only leaving me overloaded and drowning with clients and tasks much too big for my time. As the end of the year approached, Andrew and I had been talking about this next year for us and where we would be in our marriage and family and feel now is the time to take this chance with my thriving business. The opportunity to embrace the blessings coming my way each month with client after client so I can build my home business to be a stable source of income for our home. I'm most excited about being a "stay at home stepmom" the weeks we have Drake but it will also be entertaining being a full time business lady on our weeks off! I can't wait to see how The Kinch Life | DESIGNS evolves over 2014 as 2013 was packed with much more than I had ever dreamed it would be!

I do have to say my husband is the most amazing man ever supporting me and encouraging me to take this huge leap of faith. Without his consistent love and understanding of me wanting to chase this huge dream, I would never be where I am today!

I do plan to spend more time focusing on a consistent blogging schedule here so there's some kind of intriguing content happening and you might have guessed by the freebie above, but I will be sharing downloads much more often as I'll be able to design my little heart out, daily. Eeek! I can't wait.

2014.... let's do this!

Happy New Year friends! I'm going to be cliche and say I can't believe it's 2014 already but seriously, time just seems to be moving quicker and quicker. We threw a little soiree last night with our closest friends and couldn't have had a better time ringing in the New Year! In all the party planning, I did create some cute little prints for our champagne table that I'm now using on our bar cart so I wanted to share here for those of you who asked about them on instagram! Sometimes I just get buried in an overwhelming sense of stress and I tend to sit and think, how can I get through this without having melt down after melt down. I am the type of person who likes checking things off my list and I won't stop until that happens and now being in a job that has a never ending list of "to-do's" has really been a challenge for me. I've had to set boundaries and know my limits because if I don't, I turn into a mess of emotions and a fog of tiredness. 

It does hit me though, I am so blessed to have the opportunity of being busy. So many new businesses and ventures are dragging and it's a struggle making ends meet and I'm quite the opposite. That being said, I know my clients will keep coming, I know they'll respect I have my home life and mommy life to fulfill and I know they'll wait to see the final products because I have a family who needs me. I was up late last night pulling together my weekend list of clients, and had a moment where I let it all go, took a deep breath and prayed that I have the strength to set my limits, to adhere by those limits and enjoy life as well as my wonderful business and clients. I believe I can get through this busy season of life....so I will.

After doing the new update on my phone, I figured I needed a new styled background and this one came to me. Have we all seen these cute mugs from Ashley Brooke Designs? I haven't yet purchased one but I'm pretty sure I stalk them about 4 times a day dreaming of having it in my hands. It may be the bright pink I'm swooning over or the fun saying but either way I had to enjoy a little recreation of my own that's similar.

Thank you all for the love on yesterday's post also. It's not easy coming to that realization but I do know, as many of your reassured me, God has a bigger plan and it's all in His timing we will be blessed by little miracles. Hope you all are having a fabu week thus far!
