Considering it's been 2 months since my baby shower and we're about to welcome baby girl any day now, I thought it was about time to blog it! I first have to send so many thanks to my mom particularly for spending weeks on end and a huge amount of money on making this day special for me. She's knows how picky and OCD I am so it was hard letting go and letting her do it all and she blew my expectations out of the water! It was the perfect touch of feminine and girly while remaining classy and gorgeous. Not too overdone- it was just right! Another thank you goes to my sister, Sami and grandma for helping mama with all the loose ends to make this day perfect for me. I have quite the amazing support system and send so much gratitude to them!
When we started chatting about a shower, I wanted something in the morning so I originally thought a brunch styled party with a waffle bar and mimosas but after thinking about it more, I dreamed of a little tea party. My mom had her caterer bring in tea sandwiches, macarons, scones and yummy desserts while my grandma made cupcakes as well. They brewed some tea and offered sangria, which was a huge hit! We played some games that my sister created and opened gifts- all the usual baby shower details- and Brealyn was there capturing the whole thing for us!
There's always one gift that does stand out and I have to say, it was a precious bible from my dad with "Emery Kinch" engraved on the front. It's blush pink and small so it's perfect for her (thanks for suggesting this to him, mom!) but I was all tears opening that! Looking back, it was lovely and exactly what I wanted. We were showered with so many goodies for Emery and I can't wait to see her with everything.

It's finally time to share this labor of love with you all! It's typical Aubrey in all it's gold and blush goodness and surprisingly, Andrew and Drake love it just as much as I do. Since finding out we were having a girl, I knew right away the direction I wanted to take this room and started getting things together quickly. I had a lot from my previous office so I was able to be resourceful but other items were either gifted by my parents or Andrew and I purchased them over the summer. My goal was to create a space that was soft, whimsical and serene for Emery but also something she can grow with and add lots of fun color to over time as she develops and becomes her own little personality. Looking back- it's perfect in my eyes and I wouldn't change a single thing. I hope you love it too!

Our Hospital Playlist
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD DESKTOP BACKGROUND
A couple weeks ago I sat down and pulled together our hospital playlist. The list of songs I'd know would keep me calm or give me peace during labor and since creating it, I've been listening to it daily. Fifty-four songs, three hours and fifty-four minutes. It's something I'm cherishing because I know in certain moments while listening when we're in the hospital it'll be a moment that I'll never forget and in the future hearing those songs will take me right back to those sweet and wonderful memories of welcoming our little girl.
So without further ado, here's what made the cut:

These are in no particular order, we just plan to hit shuffle and enjoy! Some have zero meaning to them while others are ones I've always found comfort in but I feel like this is a pretty good variety while still giving calmer vibes. I just can't wait until it's that moment we're in the hospital, getting settled in and beginning to celebrate our baby's birth day! 23 days or less, friends.... not like I'm counting! ;)

36 Weeks
leggings & tunic: The Tickled Pink Boutique
We are officially there people! 36 weeks and my doctor will deliver baby girl if she's decides to come any day now. Andrew and I are praying as are a lot of our friends and family that she comes very soon versus closer to her actual due date so if you don't mind as well, we would love that!
Some things have definitely changed over the last week/weekend and it all points to my body getting ready to her big appearance.
PELVIC PAIN & SPASMS
+ Andrew and I went to Costco yesterday and I could barely make it through the store. I kept getting so much pressure and spasms in my pelvic area and it was painful! I was in tears and crying but I'm assuming that means she's getting lower.
TENDER BREASTS & LEAKING
+ I haven't had super tender boobs since the first trimester and suddenly the water in the shower makes me scream. I'm also leaking a whole lot more so I've been wearing nursing pads so it doesn't go through to my shirts.
LOWER TUMMY STRETCH MARKS
+ I have a theory this means she's dropping. I only have a couple stretch marks that are tiny on my hips and overnight I had large, deep, painful ones just below my belly button. Keep dropping baby girl!
MUCUS PLUG
+ Still slowly coming out.
LOWER BACK PAIN
+ Whew- that is no joke! I've been reading about labor more and more and I've heard you can even get your contractions in your back? Who knew! I'm assuming that might be it but nothing worth timing.
MILD CONTRACTIONS
+ Only a couple times and hour during the day after I've done something strenuous so it's not serious although they're painful. I'm praying this week they get to where I can at least get excited about them getting worse and closer together.
CRAMPS
+ ALL THE TIME. Like a period but on steroids.
As for the family of mine, we're all on pins and needles!
ANDREW
This morning laying in bed, Andrew mentioned how excited he is that in just a few weeks we will be home with Emery snuggled with us and how he can't wait to hold her all the time. It melts my heart hearing him express his excitement for meeting her and finally being a daddy to a daughter.
DRAKE
He is dying her his sister to make her debut on his birthday, October 13th! I keep telling him, I will do my best but who knows. He picked out a special book this week for her and wrote her a letter and plans on giving/reading it to her when he meets her in the hospital. We have her car seat installed and every time I get him from school he comments on how he can't wait to reach over and hold her little hands when she's here.
BRUTUS
This dog! He will not leave my side. He's always been a clingy type but lately he follows me even into the bathroom or when I shower and starts whining when I leave him. He is attached and I feel like it just has to do with him knowing things are about to change.
MOMMY
I have 2 full weeks of work left that I need to complete before she arrives but in case she does come, I have an auto reply set up and ready to post. I am crossing my fingers if that happens, my clients will understand and respect the sudden MIA vibes they'll be getting. I hope to take about 6 weeks off when she comes!
So here we are., playing the waiting game. I'm not one to be patient and like to wait but I keep telling myself even if she doesn't come before her due date, we only have 28 days until we meet her. Maybe 29 if they induce the day after her due date. I can do it.

My Hospital Bag
Bed rest is not ideal, you guys. I've found that even working from home and being on a computer all day is something that's not really allowed for an extended period of time so it's been interesting working through all my last clients before I start my official maternity leave! It has given me the opportunity to check and recheck my hospital list so I wanted to share everything I've packed along with some splurges to make the experience a little more calming and peaceful!
- INSURANCE CARD
- IDENTIFICATION
- HOSPITAL REGISTRATION
- BIRTH PLAN
- CAR SEAT
- BABY "COMING HOME" OUTFIT
- DIAPER BAG
- COMFY CLOTHES
-leggings
-tank tops
-oversized cardigan
-robe
....whatever will make you comfortable and easy to nurse in
-tank tops
-oversized cardigan
-robe
....whatever will make you comfortable and easy to nurse in
- PAJAMAS
- PANTIES (4-5 pair and ones you don't mind ruining)
- NURSING BRAS (I am bringing one and 2 bralettes)
- SOCKS (2-3 pair)
- SLIPPERS
- NIPPLE CREAM
- MAXI PADS
- BOPPY PILLOW
- TOILETRIES
-face wash
-shampoo & conditioner
-hair brush & ties
-contacts/glasses
-deodorant
-body lotion
-chapstick
- PHONES & CHARGERS
- CAMERA & CHARGER
These are the basics, obviously! Something I recommend having no matter what because either you'll really need them or the hospital might supply them but they aren't ideal. When it comes to an extended stay away from home, I want to be as comfortable as possible so if that means you bringing your own goodies, do so! You know what will make you happy and less stressed so take the time to think through if any and all of these items are something you'll require as every person is different.
*** Don't forget your honey will need all their goodies as well so pack one bag together or one for each of you. Andrew and I always share a bag and I went ahead and made him a little "daddy survival kit" with his favorite snacks and things to keep him busy if labor is long and uneventful.
- CALMING PILLOW MIST
- ESSENTIAL OIL
- BUMP NEST PILLOW
- IPAD & CHARGER
- MAGAZINES
- LABOR PLAYLIST
- GUEST BOOK
- MAKEUP
-bronzer
-mascara (waterproof)
-chapstick
Now these items come down to what will make your stay more peaceful and like home. Again, labor could be something very easy and quick or it can be an experience that is chaotic, long and hard so I want to be prepared for either scenario. That being said, these items just seem like a good buffer for if there's a lot of down time and I need to get my mind off contractions or simply making me more comfortable while staying away from home.
On the same note with splurging, I decided to get a new bag for our time there to lug everything in. I wanted to have a little treat and something to get excited about when we were whisked (haha- I'm sure it'll be quite dramatic) away about to welcome our angel baby so I chose to get a fabulous black leather duffle bag and a new toiletry carrier from Hudson and Bleecker. With all these little items I was packing, I knew I needed something simple yet functional so I wasn't going through ziploc after ziploc looking for deodorant. That being said, my new case from Hudson and Bleecker is perfection. First off, it's a lovely snake print which I'm obsessed over and carries two clear storage bags inside and one smaller printed zipper pouch. I was able to contain all my toiletries, along with some of my splurge items into this little unit with room to spare. Talk about perfect for packing! Once I'm done using it for the hospital stay, I plan to use the clear bags for our diaper bag and the smaller pouch for a card/key holder for my personal things to also throw in Emery's diaper bag.
I know being a first time mom, this could be an outrageous list but I was really trying to be prepared and feel this is what will work for Andrew and I. If I missed something, please let me know and I'll make sure to pack it away for our delivery day!

35 WEEKS
It's been a crazy weekend starting with a moment of "OMG, she's coming!" on Friday night around 11pm. I started having serious contractions averaging about 9-11 minutes apart until 5am Saturday. After a night of severe anxiety and tears, I called the on-call nurse at my OB and they stated it was false labor and I needed to take this next week easy, resting as much as possible because we don't want to deliver until 36 weeks. So here we are, needing to make it one more week but will happily welcome Emery anytime after that! I have a feeling since she faked us out, she's going to stay put for a while now- we all chatted about our predictions so we will see!
Saturday was also my to-be sister's bridal shower so I did attend and to my surprise my Gam Gam flew it to surprise everyone! As if I wasn't already a mess from the night before, I lost it seeing her. She's the best and hugs from her make my heart so warm. I was so thankful for her and my mama at the shower making sure I was okay and attended to.
All in all, I'm getting so so excited about meeting Emery but it added a sense of really needing to knock out some work this coming week! I want to have as much in place as possible so I don't have to worry about work while enjoying the first few weeks of mommyhood. Also, we're creating our hospital / labor playlist so suggestions are appreciated! I'm thinking along the lines of The Fray, Hillsong United, Need To Breathe, John Mayer...etc- please leave ideas below! xo

Baby Update
We are so close you guys! It's been such a process of feeling like we've been pregnant forever but also like it flew by and I feel like these last weeks are just dragging. It's the total cliche thing to say but truly, I get it now. We've been keeping busy with family in town and other events and plans to get our mind off all things baby which helps, but she's always there, you know?
As we're crossing things off our list, I thought it wise to document where we are because we really are all set and ready for her to come any time now! The remaining things uncrossed here are all in place and ready to go as well but we needed to schedule them as close to her potential due date (October 27) as possible. Speaking of due date, that's exactly 37 days away! Eeep. My doctor will gladly deliver and welcome labor after September 30th so I'm definitely praying she wants to make her debut sooner than later. Selfishly, we have things happening the first week of November that are needing me functioning so with that said, I wouldn't hate her coming sooner. ;)
As for an update with me, I'm feeling a lot of pain and aches all throughout my body but mainly in my pelvis and lower back. She's sitting head down as of Wednesday and is moving like crazy daily! I've started losing my plug (TMI) which could mean nothing or something and at my last visit my blood pressure was high so I'm now on weekly appointments until her due date. I had a cervical exam on Wednesday and I'm currently closed without dilation, as well. I'm beginning to take evening primrose oil (pills) to help soften my cervix and I planned the prenatal massage because I've heard it can also help start labor naturally. With all that to say, I won't do anything else to help push her along quicker because I want her to come when she's ready and healthy but a bit of the natural things can't hurt, right?
Okay, enough rambling. I'll be back at the doctor Monday so if anything changes, I'll update! I also plan on sharing what I've packed for my hospital bag as well as her baby book I'm making in the next few weeks along with her nursery reveal and my baby shower! Stay tuned.... have a safe and fun weekend! xo

Week End
Remember how I said I felt a little crazy for getting things ready so soon for baby girl? Well last night I experienced some contractions for about 3 hours starting at 18 mins apart increasing to 12 and then they stopped. I'm totally fine now, not hurting or feeling a thing but I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks lately too. This just assures me I can't be too prepared for her arrival. Just saying!
I also realized last night that every weekend until Emery is due, we have something planned and going on. I have to say I'm a little bummed and a little encouraged by this. On one hand, Andrew and I don't have a lot of just time for us anymore but it also keeps us busy so I'm distracted from the countdown. You win some, you lose some- right?
On a similar note, I've had an overwhelming sense of love for my husband lately. We are celebrating 5 years together in a couple weeks and we talked about how things were when we started dating to how they are now and it's so fun seeing how our life has evolved together. He's been so kind to me, rubbing my feet and being so attentive the last few weeks and I'm just cherishing that man. He has a heart of gold and I never want to take him for granted.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Diaper Bag
Let's talk diaper bags. I've never been one to really want a traditional diaper bag because I feel like with trends these days, I'd always want to be switching it up and changing the style of the bag I carry. This might not be the case with a boy because but I'm fully embracing having a girl, I can be picky and change the style of my bag often if I want. I started my hunt in the first trimester and was sold on a Kate Spade option. I ordered it during a surprise sale and have loved it ever since especially because it's leopard print. Now a couple weeks ago, I got around to getting it packed for the hospital with the necessities and quickly realized that although it's not small, it's limited on pockets for all the random things the babe needs.
I then crossed paths with Lily Jade diaper bags and was sold by the Baby Bag insert because it meets all my needs with pockets upon pockets! I have space to stow extra socks, swaddle blankets, pacifiers, headbands, boogie wipes, Sophie...you name it! And of course, I have space for the main details- diapers and wipes. It's pretty genius. Coming from a Kate Spade addict, I'm happy to say the Lily Jade bag is going to be my daily use bag! I can totally see myself snagging the leopard KS one for random things or maybe a second bag for Andrew's truck but functionality wins and I'm sold on my metallic beaute. I can already see down the line when I don't need an abundance of details packed, I'll just take the Baby Bag insert out and use this as my purse as well as Em's. Winning, my friends!
Also, that gray, heart coverall is from J.Crew and it's my obsession. I hope it fits Emery to wear coming home from the hospital!
*Lily Jade bags are on sale right now!

Maternity Shoot
So so stunning is all that goes through my mind when I see these images. Brealyn has captured the most precious memories for us in these pictures and they're something we will cherish for years to come. That lady started as a friend because our hubbies worked together and it's turned into such a fun and easy partnership and truly, she's my soul sister. I love that girl!
Brealyn- thank you for spending hours on end with Andrew and I capturing these shots for us as we embrace our little lady. Your friendship and working relationship have been such a pleasure and we just love you and Ray, endlessly! We can't express to you the gratitude we feel and are over the moon with the result of these wonderful shots. Thank you!
