This Life

via

I think there comes a time in every woman's life where confidence isn't oozing from every fiber. Beauty is tainted in their minds and what they see on the outside is something they don't feel is beautiful. Where it's a moment of discouragement or a season of transitioning with life, I suppose it's normal to feel almost empty and alone. You may not be and could be wonderfully surrounded by amazing people and uplifters but there's still those moments you can't pin point why or how or the extent of how long these emotions will last.... but they're there.

I have to confess, I've been stuck lately. Not feeling motivated or encouraged. Feeling a bit empty and worn thin. I've been stressing over things that I have no control over and in turn, looking at myself not being worth it when in His eyes, I am. He created me to stand strong and to inspire. To love, to teach, to heal and to befriend. He gave me this life to walk by His words and to reach as many souls possible and to do it gracefully. Although it may be in the back of my mind normally, I'm working at being intentional in knowing He loves me and He thinks I'm beautiful. In understanding in these busy seasons of life, I have Him to lean on and seek.

I have a main focus in this life of mine. It's to touch as many people's hearts as I can with His word and love. To raise my stepson always reaching for Him and doing all he does in His name and for His Kingdom. I've realized to do this, I have to believe in myself to be a beautiful woman of Christ so I can inspire and change other people's lives. It's eye opening coming to this realization and no, it isn't easy. But He sacrificed so much for the 7 billion people He's created so shouldn't we use our time here to honor Him and thank Him for His blessings?

i like to look back.

Sometimes you need little reminders of how life is so sweet and how life is so precious and how life is so beautiful. I like to take moments during my day to remember what was sweet to me the day before. Yesterday, I wore heels that haven't been broken in quite yet. I ended my day with blistered feet and a lot of pain. I snatched up some cozy socks, soaked and lathered my tootsies and enjoyed the warmth and healing those socks left me with.

It's really the small things. And those little moments make life so much more enjoyable. Today my feet are sporting some basic gladiators and feel well rested after a night of cozy socks burrowed in blankets.

Humbled.

I'm blessed.
And sometimes that's something I take for granted and sometimes I don't realize how I don't deserve the things God has blessed me with but he loves me still and still chooses to bless me.
Can you believe that?

Our God takes our flaws and imperfections and sins and chooses to continually love us, adore us, shower us with His grace and bless us. I struggle to wrap my head around that. Why does God deem us worthy of His grace? Why does he believe we deserve His love?

He died to save me.
He died to free us of our sins.
He died for me.

He's taken my love of design and worked it into something I can daily consume myself with as a job.
He's taken my servant heart and given me the opportunity to work at my church home.
He's taken my hand in His and walked me through the struggles of life reminding me always, he loves me and guided me to a perfect husband.

Heavenly Father,
I thank you for all you've blessed me with. I thank you for Andrew; he's my rock and best friend and without you, he wouldn't be here. Thank you for Drake. That little man has taught me patience, compassion, love and kindness all since age 3. I thank you for the home you've sheltered us with, the dog that lights up that space and the essentials of everyday life you've provided. You are so good, God. I pray you continue watching over me and my family and I pray you guide me in the directions of life that speak volumes of your love through my actions. I pray your send strength and courage in times of need; I pray you calm my heart through storms that may blur my emotions. Mostly, I pray you keep me humble because without you, I am nothing. In your name.
Amen.

OCD right here.

Does anyone else suffer from severe OCD??
I mean, severe.
Like you fix the pillows on the couch 2 seconds after the person who was sitting there gets up?
Told you it was severe.

Well, I've been learning.
Learning to let things go.
I'm the kind of person who won't take help from anyone else because I have a way to do:

laundry
dishes
bed making
couch fixing
pillow fluffing
bathroom cleaning
vacuuming
dusting
mopping
dog feeding
Just to name a few.

But I had an epiphany.
I need to stop with the OCD shenanigans because I'm stressing out like CRAZY.
So badly, I'm surprised I don't have grey hair yet.

So this last week-- you'll all be so proud...
I let Andrew help me with dishes.
I let Andrew to wipe the kicthen counter [he didn't go in the direction I do with the Clorox wipes but I still let him do it!!] :)
I let Andrew hang up laundry.
I let Andrew help bake Friendship Bread.

I mean, really.
I've taken some HUGE strides this last week.
I'm sort of excited about it.
'Cause Lord knows when babies come along, my hair will be grey in a week from all the clutter and chaos. But I'll live.

So I'm starting to learn how now.

Unleash the Church

Do you ever feel like as a Christian you are judged?
Talked down to?
Feel trapped?
I do.
Our church is working on a series called:
UNLEASHED
Simple enough, right?
Wrong.
200,000,000 Christians are currently suffering for their faith.
165,000 Christians will die this year for their faith.
75% of all religious presecution is against Christians.

Shouldn't we as Christians be confident in our Faith?
Be willing to die for Jesus as He did for us?

I won't lie. It makes me a bit uneasy knowing those statistics but
I'm CRAZY in love with the Lord.
If it weren't for His grace we wouldn't be freed today.

Let me tell you a story...
I grew up in the church. My mom worked on staff and did from when I was a baby until I was in high school. I went to church loving Christ as my savior all throughout elementary school but something happened in middle school.
I was judged.
I was denied friendships because I believed in Jesus Christ.
I spoke openly about my faith and it got me no where.

I was a cheerleader, competetive dancer, people pleaser, so church took a back seat.
I did what everyone else was doing to keep friendships.
To keep people from making fun of me for being a faithful follower of Christ.

Middle school, high school, college, and I still hadn't recommitted my life to the Lord.
Then I started dating Andrew.
His lifestyle screamed at me to get my faith in check.

I'm not kidding when I say I fought it.
I wanted nothing to do with going to church weekly and nothing to do with praying for anything and everything, nothing to do with accepting Christ again.
But God worked some amazing miracles in my heart.
He made sure I was back to screaming my love for Him all through Andrew's committment to me.

It's funny looking back how rocky my life was when I strayed from the Lord.
How simple it is to put all your trust into Him because HE IS FAITHFUL.
Always.

It's a fact that most brothers and sisters in Christ come to the Lord committing their life to Him because of others personal testimonies. I'm proof of that!
I challenge you to START TALKING if you are crazy in love with the Lord;
Tell your friends and family members how you came to Him.
Let's make Jesus famous.
Let's be the radical change and UNLEASH our love for Christ!
We know as Christians all our sins stacked and added up are no comparison for the love Jesus Christ has for us. His love is hurtling towards all of us with heavenly force.
Anyone can be saved.

And for those of you who haven't accepted Him into your hearts:
How long will it take of being beaten down, discouraged and hurt before you can surrender your ALL to our Heavenly Father? When will you take the plunge to be fully devoted to Jesus Christ?

I hope my story maybe gives one of you
Faith you may be missing,
Hope for a better tomorrow,
Belief that the Lord CAN & WILL save you,
as long as you commit to Him.

P.S.
I love the outfit I wore to church Sunday, I'll take that top in every color. Thanks.

& yes, Brutus is a creep.

Are you embracing life?

It seems like lately with life being so crazy the last few months, my husband and I have been letting all the excess shenanigans get to us. Yes, shenanigans. It's a silly way to refer to all the chaos of life but that's the word I feel best suits it.

Back in October life hit hard. My Uncle Jim went missing and that chapter in my life closed
[it was a sad, sad time].
Our home was broken into and since then I feel...violated... being in our home alone. If that makes sense.
BUT life is too short to let it all slow us down and to get caught up in it!
Last night the hubs and I had a heart to heart.
This is rare cause he's not one to really communicate about his feelings and I'm one who wears my heart on my sleeve. This isn't saying we don't talk about life and have meaningful conversations [duh]; it simply is stating we are blessed and haven't had many obstacles we've both felt pain from since our journey began [praise the Lord for that!]
We have come to a place where we've been hit with a reality check.
What's the point in wasting energy on the materialistic things in life?
It's always getting bigger and better so you'll never be completely satisfied.
What's the point in kicking someone when they're down only causing more pain and resentment?
All you're doing is losing a valued relationship.
My husband stated it so beautifully... he feels convicted for not enjoying life and letting everything stress him out. God is knocking at his door saying "let it go, Andrew".
 I couldn't agree more.
There are so many things in life I am tense and concerned about. I have anxiety and stress DAILY.
It's that time for Andrew and I to embrace being 22&24 and embrace the love we have for each other and for life. The love we have for our families and amazing friends!

God has worked seamlessly in our hearts to enjoy all he's given us. It now time for us to realize it and take life head on and ready for a party! ;)

God is good, always.
Does everyone else feel like they struggle in the same way??

Jesus Paid It All

Did you know that 86% of people ages 18-30 years old DON'T go to church. What's with this generation? Why is God so distant from people's hearts? What's wrong with having faith? Why isn't it the {norm} to be a faithful person? Is the Lord's heart breaking seeing people lose relationships with him? Can we fix this?

I ask these questions ending a series at CCV entitled {QUESTIONS}. Today: What is the point of church? Many of the questions I asked above came up today with our topic and it got me thinking. Here, I'm sharing some of my notes with everyone hoping they go out this week praying for God's
grace and love while they connect with him in their everyday lives.

Statistics show that 18-30 year olds are the generation of {anti-church}. This doesn't mean they don't believe in God or have faith but they don't see it as a necessity to attend church. Why? Who wouldn't want to come into a place with hundreds of people like them who love the Lord? Who wouldn't want to stand strong and praise the Lord's name? It's an amazing feeling knowing you're all in this together; all in the same world sharing the love of Christ and dealing with the same temptations.

Overprotective: being someone who was brought up in a religious home but chose a different path. Example: KATY PERRY! Yes, the singer/celebrity. She was raised eating {angel eggs} not deviled eggs. Funny, but she's been washed up by culture and lost her touch with Christ.

Antiscience: Does faith and science mix? The world is technology based now; embrace the word of God by getting an app. YouVersion is an amazing Biblical App for android and apple. LOOK IT UP!

Doubtless: How do you incorporate your faith in everyday life? Be confident in your love of the Lord and share that with others.

Okay people, get your GPS out now and {recalculate} your relationship with Christ. Admit you're behind, admit you've sinned, admit you have temptations. By God's grace we are forgiven. Find a way to get back to the meaning of church. Be REAL-RELEVANT-RELATIONAL! Jesus loves you and accepts you for who you are.

Hebrews 10:24
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds"
Just a thought people. Ponder!
