Celebrating the Girls
We had such a fun time on Sunday celebrating both our little ladies! A few months back my grandparents were in town and Gam Gam is all into horses so her and Emery were watching Spirit on Netflix and it just clicked - we were having a "horsey birthday party" per Emery's request and Hollyn doesn't care so it stuck!
Gam Gam and G-Money (we call my grandpa this) got the girls these cute little outfits for their gifts, we scored the most darling invites from Minted, our friend Erin from Whip It Good Cookies did the best creations, Presh Party handled the cutest party hats and balloons, and Indy & Pippa sent us the coordinating bows to pull it all together. We felt so loved on by everyone who came out to celebrate them with us!
Because I was asked a few times on Instagram about our snacks, here are a couple items we made!
Puppy Chow Trail Mix
1 box Teddy Grahams
4 cups Chex cereal
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup M&M's
2 cups mini marshmallows
Instructions //
Melt the milk chocolate chips and peanut butter together and stir to combine, then add 4 cups Chex cereal and coat in a bowl. Transfer to a large ziploc bag with powered sugar and shake to coat creating the puppy chow base. Then add all ingredients to a large bowl, mix to combine and serve!
Birthday Cake Popcorn
- 1 bag Boom Chicka Pop
- 1 cup white chocolate
- Circus Animal Cookies
- Pretzel sticks
- Sprinkles
Instructions //
Melt the white chocolate to have ready and layer all your ingredients! We start with the kettle corn, add the white chocolate by drizzling it over the popcorn, crunch up the pretzels and circus animals, sprinkle with sprinkles and repeat - popcorn, white chocolate, pretzels, circus animals, sprinkles... etc until your bowl is full!

My Peanut | 20 Months
Okay, this little lady is just melting my heart lately! She's almost 20 months and still the tiniest peanut but her personality is coming out and it's so fun to see her similarities and differences to her older siblings. She's talking up a storm now and knows what she wants - I mean, that girl is relentless until she gets it, too.
She's breaking in a few teeth, which I think are her last ones. Praise the Lord! She isn't sleeping quite through the night. It's maybe once a week we get a full night of her sleeping while the others are up around 3am. Guys, she's going to be 2 in a handful of months here and that is slowly killing me. Angel from day one only waking up once or twice but 20 months in and I'm like.... when will this end? Will it ever end?!!
We have been dealing with some constipation issues with her and it literally breaks my heart. We did find a resolution for it recently, which has been a blessing but man, those few months of constantly struggling and her screaming from pain was so intense and broke my freakin' heart!!
She's finally getting into 9-12 month clothes and wearing things her sister wore when she was around 8 months. It's crazy how different they are in size. I thought having two girls at the same time of year, they'd be wearing all the same clothes during the same seasons because of sizing but nope. Hollyn is so behind on that scale. We just introduced size 2 diapers and she's actually wanting to already potty train so that's hysterical.
Anyway... wanted to update here this sweet baby! We love her to pieces. She really makes our family whole.

Hollyn Grace | 15 Months
After 12 months, it's hard to keep up with how old your kiddo is. I'm not the mom who says my little one is 34 months or 57 weeks. It was hard enough doing a monthly picture during the first year of Hollyn's life but I had to make that happen - mostly for her sake so she didn't feel inferior to Emery who has a 12 month timeline. Did you mamas do that for both your kiddos?
She's now 15 months old and has such a fun personality!
LET'S RECAP
- She started walking! It took her about a month from the time of taking steps to making walking her mode of transportation. She chose to crawl a lot more than walk for a while because she was able to keep up with Emery and Drake. It's real darn cute seeing those little legs waddle around every where now!
- Sleep? That's a good joke! She's still up throughout the night at least once, if not twice. I do blame me for this. I suck at being consistent with her because I love my sleep. It's easier for me to snag a bottle at 2am and she passes right back out versus me fighting her for 2 hours to fall back asleep without a crutch. This is 100% me, and maybe I'll wean her eventually.
- Speaking of bottle, yep, she still uses one. I can see you all silently judging me! But really, she's my baby and what baby wants, baby gets. No? ;)
- Another crutch that should've been weaned a while back or not given to her at all? Pacifier. She's a wubbanub hoarder and has 3-5 in her hands at all times. It's freaking cute. I can't seem to take them away from her. She even sees one from across the room, bolts for it and literally throws her body on top of it giggling. I CAN'T EVEN.
- She's still my tiny girl and finally upgraded to 9-12 months clothing. What a difference with her from Emery who was in 18-24 month clothes at this age. I have one girl who's tall and mighty and one who's petite and calm. The perfect kind of balance, though!
- We did find she has eczema, just like me, so we've been swapping out some clothes to soft, cozy ones to help her throughout the night with scratching. Poor girl just itches and itches those little thighs, again, just like me, and it breaks my heart when she's in pain. We are progressively getting Clover Baby and Kids for jammies because they're so delicate on her sensitive skin. I also made an ointment for her with our essential oils and it's helped immensely! Shameless plug, I reached out to the awesome team at Clover Baby and Kids about their jammies and their customer support was incredible! We decided to team up for a giveaway very soon - be on the lookout!
You may not care about this little update, but I'm trying hard to get back to my roots with blogging and keeping it for documenting sake for our family with milestones, updates, and a way to remember all about our babies!

Celebrating Emery + Hollyn's Birthdays
This past Sunday we celebrated the girls together with one party because it's just easier that when with their birthdays being so close together. Notice Emery above holding up three fingers for her age, all sorts of serious! Haha!
They had a blast soaking up friends and family and eating cupcakes (thank you Sprinkles!!). I chose to do a simple Honeybee theme because I fell in love with these invites from Minted. I just couldn't pass them up!
Candace from Presh Toast made them birthday hats and all the paper goods to add some fun details to the party and then Gathre sent us the Midi Mat in Ivy to catch all those crumbs and sprinkles when singing happy birthday!
It all turned out so cute and perfect for them. We sure love these girls and how they bless our lives abundantly!

Happy Birthday Hollyn!
She's ONE!! It blows my mind it's already been a year when on one hand I feel like she was just born and on another, I feel like she's been in our family forever. I tried hard to document her first year as well as I did with Emery but I fell short. Something I regret but have to accept and that's okay... she's so loved and cherished in our home and the perfect piece to our family puzzle.

Hollyn's Nursery 6 Months Later
I originally shared Hollyn's nursery, here, but you know how living in a space things get tweaked and updated and a little more... lived in. That's happened! We added some gorgeous Just Born bedding from their Keepsake Collection, pulled in this amazing blue chest from The Land of Nod for blankets and toy and added a few more pieces to the walls to really make it feel homey and perfect for our girl.

Simple Babyhood
When I was growing up, my aunt and uncle had these photos framed in their home of their three daughters with the simple capture of parts of their body in the tiny and precious baby state. Their toes, fingers, belly button, lips... all the little details you quickly forget and see fuzzying over time in your mind with each passing day.

Hollyn Grace | 6 Months
SIX whole months with our Hollyn bug! The changes from month 2 to month 3 is just so sweet! It's when she started chunking up and becoming more expressive and vocal to us. Smiling, chatting, giggling. Just the sweetest!

I'm failing at documenting our girl here but our biggest praise of being 4 months is not needing to get a helmet to correct her head. It's progressed over time and we're celebrating that little victory.

Life with three kids really makes you lose track of time and documenting things the third time around. Oye vey! Hollyn has been 3 months since the 8th so I'm clearly delayed with sharing on the blog but I couldn't let myself not share, you know?

TWO MONTHS as of January 8th. That sure flew by. I don't feel like she's anything newborn lately because she's so dang chunky (12 pounds!) but I sure do love seeing her grow and develop and smile at us! She's been cooing and giving us big ol grins and it just melts me! Totally melts me.

Time is a funny thing. I think about how things progress so quickly and I blink and each phase or chapter or season is over but then I also feel like things drag on and take forever on he flip side. I think babies are the perfect example of that.

Introducing Hollyn Grace
She's here! I can't believe we've finally met our new baby girl and it was a better delivery and experience than I expected. Having induced the first time, we were in labor about 23 hours and it was a long process so I was comparing and thinking it would be very similar and something I was nervous to do again.

Oh, you have no idea how excited I am to share these pictures! I wasn't even planning on doing maternity pictures this time around and I felt content with that up until about 32 weeks. Something clicked in me then that I haven't been documenting myself and this growing belly like I did with Emery and although I may be okay with that, maybe Hollyn would want some pictures knowing it was her inside her mama. Cliche? Totally. But it could be a keepsake she wants and I would feel terrible if it came down to that and I didn't have some for her.

What's in Baby's Hospital Bag?
Hospital bag chat! I had a few requests for what I was packing for Hollyn on instagram so I thought I'd pull a little post together to share. It's not necessary to really bring a lot for baby but it makes your stay more comfortable whether it's one night or a few nights. Comparatively to our first time around, I checked off some boxes of what it was nice to have then and what I wish I had brought (burp cloths!) so this is it.

Happy Friday! It's time to share Hollyn's sweet little bedroom and I am so pleased with how it turned out. I wanted to go with a more eclectic vibe and pull pieces we could use with her over time to give her a toddler room and then big girl room. I started with the rug and knew everything else would fall into place pretty easily based on that one piece and I love the way it turned out.

Pregnancy Update- 34 Weeks

Happy hump day! I thought it would be fun to check in on a little pregnancy update since we've only managed to share a few this time around. I'm currently 34 weeks and have been experiencing some contractions outside of Braxton Hicks for the last week or so. They don't typically last long or get close enough together to ring any alarms but that's progress, right?

Here they are- the limited and few shots I was able to capture at my baby shower my mom threw but at least it's something to document the special day she planned for myself and baby Hollyn! She's always so prompt and on top of making any event memorable and enjoyable for all parties and the day didn't disappoint. From the sweet details of pictures of Andrew and I as babies to using a crib to collect cards and gifts, it was so lovely!

Baby Shower Invitations- Final Pick!
Eeep! I am so excited to share these beauties with you! I shared here my top picks and then my mom and I started talking through how she wanted to do the shower so we changed our path on style of things and ended with these amazingly detailed and lovely invitations. We didn't spare anything and went with a full suite- envelope liners, return address stickers, recipient addressing and custom stamps to match. It's all about the details and I think being on the receiving end of these invites will be an experience in itself when being opened to ohhh and ahhh over.

It's been about a month since my last update so I wanted to get back here and touch base with where we're at. I'm currently 24 weeks and excited! This pregnancy has flown by compared to my first and I'm not nearly doing it justice documenting, but I'm trying!
